The first thing you need to do is calculate the number inside the parentheses, which is 2 + 1 = 3.

Then you move on to the multiplication. In this case, the number in front of the parentheses multiplied by the numbers inside: 7 x 3 = 21.

Now it suddenly becomes very simple, we are left with 5 + 21 = 26.
