For a parent, everyday life consists of many responsibilities. Buying groceries, work, pick up the kids, cook, clean, and so on. On top of that, you must do everything with a smile on your face. Therefore, it’s very important to have some alone time, which is easier said than done. Men, however, seem to have found their sanctuary – the bathroom.
Spend around seven hours a year in the bathroom
According to a study that surveyed 1,000 men, it turns out that men on average spend around seven hours a year in the bathroom – without actually using the toilet.
According to the study, the main reasons for escaping to the bathroom were to get away from a nagging partner, children and avoiding chores.
“The bathroom is the sanctuary of our home”
“It’s very much a sanctuary, somewhere we can cut ourselves off from the outside world, albeit just temporarily. Peace and quiet are sacred and clearly, men take the opportunity to get this whenever they can – often in the bathroom,” said a spokesman from the company that conducted the study.
However, recharging batteries in the toilet seems to be vital for men. According to the study, as many as 25% of men stated that without toilet visits, they don’t know how they would manage.
Although it might not apply to all men, now I understand where my husband disappears to when it’s cleaning day!
