Only 1 in 7 adults finds the correct answer: How many holes does this t-shirt have?

There are lots of different ways to keep the brain sharp. We all want to feel fresh, quick and alert, so it is important to keep those brain cells in shape. Usually, when time permits it, I like to sit down to do some crosswords or sudoku to exercise my mind.

Lately, however, it has become quite popular to solve puzzles online. And that’s great since most of us spend our day staring at a computer or smartphone, leaving no time to think for ourselves, having easy access to mind teasers is very important for our health.

Back in school things were different. Riddles were mostly about using pen and paper. I remember a teacher who liked to hand out riddles and small problems during class. He would give us a time limit to solve the challenge at hand.

It wasn’t always easy, but I really enjoyed it. The puzzles have changed and evolved with time, and it’s great that so many ways to exercise the mind are available.

How many holes?

I found this riddle online earlier today. Apparently, according to different websites, only 1 in 7 adults gets the right answer on their first try. Therefore, I felt that a little challenge would be good fun. To make it easier, I’ll give you some options so you can pick your answer.

How many holes does this t-shirt have? 2, 4, 6 or 8?

Now give it some time, think carefully. There might be more holes than you think at first sight! Let those brain cells warm up for a while before deciding on an answer!

The correct answer is 8!

Below I’ll explain why there are 8 holes with two different pictures!

There are two holes in the front of the t-shirt, the two holes for the arms, one hole for the neck and the hole at the bottom for the waist. So now we have six holes you can see at first sight. But there are two more!

Think about it, the t-shirt has two sides! And if you can see through the holes on the front, that means there are similar holes on the back of the t-shirt. So two more holes – for a total of 8!
