The decision
Brittany wanted to rediscover her own sexuality, rekindle her passionate side and reinvigorate her relationship with her husband. She didn’t feel comfortable in her own body after having given birth to three kids, and she wanted to learn to love herself and her body again.
To do this, she decided to try having sex with her husband, every single day – for an entire year.
No exceptions
She decided there there would be no exceptions. Being on her period didn’t matter, and they would have to find alone time away from the kids. The only time where they abstained was if one of them was very sick, or if her husband was away travelling for work.
It wasn’t easy
Just like many others, Brittany wasn’t happy with her body. She explains that before the experiment, she would “keep the lights off during sex,” “hide her boobs inside a camisole,” and waited for her husband to leave the bedroom before “barreling from the shower” to her closet to get dressed. After a few years she began to wonder if her husband even knew what she looked like naked anymore.
Breaking old habits
So she decided to conquer her fear of being naked with her husband. She started showering with him, and stopped concealing her body. They started having sex with the lights on, and she refused to feel ashamed of her body.
New habits
At first, the new routine felt “pretty rough”. But as the moths passed, it stopped being a chore and started becoming something to look forward to, and eventually became “the moment of the day where I was most at peace”.
The result
The couple successfully completed their challenge, and managed to have sex every day for an entire year – and after that, they simply kept on going! Brittany says that the couple is happier than ever, and she recommends that others try the same experiment.
