There is nothing worse than having a Karen neighbor. Sure, you come across plenty of nasty people during your life. But when the person living next to you enjoys making everyone miserable, life can get really hard.
Things can boil to the point where you decide to either move away, or officially involve any authorities you can get your hands on.
The family in today’s story was in the middle of a dispute with their neighbors. The whole thing would, however, take an unexpected turn when the father decided to take matters into his own hands.
“They are complete nutjobs”
On Reddit, an anonymous user, who seems to be one of the family’s children, shared the story that tells how the neighbors ran over their fences with their cars almost daily, reports RonProject.
“We live in a small private neighborhood, the neighbors are related to us more or less (distant relatives). Everybody here is a complete nutjob. They were constantly arguing over decades before me or my brother were even born,” u/MihaM12 wrote.
“Our property line is kinda like a square and it is surrounded by road from two sides. Keep in mind that on one part of the road, we let our neighbors use 1 square meter of the land so they could use the road safer and not damage our property. This is crucial information.”
Time for revenge
He then explains that the neighbors ordered a “massive truck filled with tons of wood,” which ran over the family’s fence, destroying their bushes and leaving the metal bars completely bent. But, of course, neighbors refused to pay for the damages. So instead of just accepting defeat, their father started thinking about revenge.
Being a police officer, he knew the law well enough, so he dug up the property line marker and placed plastic barrels filled with rocks on his property. “In the next 6 hours, 3 of our neighbors came knocking on the door because they hit our plastic barrels filled with rocks. They were angry and wanted to call the cops.” But they never did. Because they knew the father was entirely within his rights.
However, the neighbors did not learn their lesson. Instead, they continued hitting the barrels until the point where they became useless. In the end, u/MihaM12’s father had enough, so he devised a creative plan that turned his normal revenge into what Reddit would call a proper ProRevenge.
Bought cement and metal bars
“My dad was furious. He cut out wood to use as a mold. He bought cement, sand and metal bars. One quiet afternoon, I and my dad cemented the entire disputed part at our site and placed some beautiful flowers on top (which then covered the sharp metal bars). So when they were going to run across the plants they could feel the sweet scent of our victory.”
It seemed like a pretty good plan. However, it was much more effective than they first expected.
While the family sat down and waited for things to unfold, the neighbors destroyed eight of their cars by driving over the fence at the now cemented wall.
However, they never complained—probably knowing they had been ultimately defeated.
