When you’re young, you’re always looking to test the limits of what’s allowed. If you try something new and get away with it, then next time you’ll try something even more extreme – rinse and repeat, until some puts down their foot.
One such thing is to provoke older people. To many youngsters, old people seem stuck-up, stiff and uptight – but they forget that not too long ago, these elderly people were young themselves. The girl in this story learned that the hard – but hilarious – way!
A 17-year-old girl arrived at the restaurant where she worked as a waitress. While scanning the guests, she spotted an attractive old man sitting alone, nursing a drink.
The girl had some time before starting her shift, so she figured she might as well have some fun.
She approached the strange man, smiled and said, “Hello. My name is Carmen.”
“That’s a beautiful name,” the old man replied. “Is it a family name?”
“No,” she replied, “as a matter of fact, I gave it to myself. It represents the things that I enjoy the most – cars and men. Therefore, I chose ‘Carmen.’”
“Is that so?” the man asked, highly amused.
“It is,” she nodded, then asked, “What’s your name?”
Without missing a beat, he answered, “B. J. Titsengolf.”
